Craftsmanship and quality through time
We go back to 1946, when Røros Metall started as a tinsmith workshop in the mining town of Røros. Stove plates, wood boilers, fireplace hoods, and other stove and fireplace equipment in hammered copper formed the backbone of the company for an entire generation. When Randi Augensen and her husband Svein took over in 1979, they brought with them an innovative mindset and a clear goal: we will become the best in kitchen ventilation.
In 1981, we launched our first copper kitchen hood under the RørosHetta brand, and ever since, development, creativity, quality, and craftsmanship have been the company’s core values. Today, we have 47 skilled employees—several of whom have been with us since the very first hood—and the third generation of the Augensen family now runs the company, which has an annual turnover of more than 200 million NOK.

Mass-produced customization
A new concept introduced by the companies in the Rørosklyngen—and precisely what RørosHetta delivers. With the introduction of shift work on the production line, investment in a new bending machine in 2024, and the long experience of our employees, we have optimized and streamlined the production of kitchen hoods with integrated Sense technology. Smart, quiet, and automatic kitchen hoods that can be tailored to exactly the design you desire.
Whether it’s standard dimensions from the catalogue, extra wide, extra tall, or just a few millimetres of adjustment—very little is impossible when our staff bends the metal at the factory. Our paint department can match all NCS colours in both standard and matte finishes, or you can choose between four different metals in high-gloss or brushed surfaces.
With the introduction of Frame Sense in 2025 and Groove in 2021, you can now also play with wood in your preferred stain, or choose from more than 20 different 4 mm Dekton panels—only your imagination sets the limit.
